Welcome to ShirleyParkerGore.com
With no formal art qualifications & largely self taught, I started printmaking in 2013 after a career in teaching and as a Board Room executive.
I divide my time between London, Rye, East Sussex and Tuscany, where I have a second home. It is from these locations that I draw inspiration and this can start with a thought, a concept, a memory or something that catches my eye. Many of my stylised landscapes reflect my love of the Tuscan countryside.
I experiment with different forms, subjects and techniques and this makes my work very varied which I think reflects my energy and the fact that I am interested in everything. I do not wish to capture the literal likeness of reality but rather the essence of the subject.
I produce only a small number of original serigraphs ( prints ) for each edition; there are rarely more than 6 and sometimes just one.
My imagination is too energetic to spend time on long print runs and I think this limited number makes my work even more collectable.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my website and I hope that you enjoy looking at my work.
